M6 Update
A few rolls of film spent, processed and scanned with my Leica M6 TTL. It has been a very rewarding experience. I shot a 36 exp Trix-X 400 at box speed by mistake and developed it in Diafine. I used a rented Zeiss 50mm 1.5 lens. Images came out developed well with just some minor water marks on negatives, but the tones are amazing.
I wanted to burn through the roll to make sure the camera is functioning as it should, shutter speeds are up to par and just to shake it out. So I took pics in the house, low light, outside after the rain stopped. Plus, patience was wearing thin on getting into the development solution with Diafine.

Developing with Diafine is quite simple. I was concerned that shooting at box speed would produce poor results. At the same time I started thinking of how will I scan the images? Did quite a bit of research on the web and called a few places offering scanning $ervices.

I decided that a scanner is absolutely necessary and will pay for its self within x amount of film rolls and I could control the quality of the scans while learning. Quality v.price is always a struggle and I decided Epson V700 Color Scanner. I received it and went to work ASAP.

After receiving the Leica Summicron 50mm f2 I sent the Zeiss bank and once again was ready to try out the lens with color film. I went to Hollywood and Highland with my son on Friday and took a fresh roll of color film with me. We took the metro there. I had Walgreens develop my Fujicolor Pro 400H film. I took me a few iteration at scanning and editing in Photoshop, but I am improving.
I dont know why he wanted to take a photo next to this store
The camera and lens perform flawlessly, its the operator who can use the practice. Still excited about shooting film, developing, black and white and photography in general. Here is a photo from the Wax Museum:

Moving on to my next roll of film, reading photography books, looking for the next photo.

The M6 looks like a dynamite camera – You’re doing a good job bringing film media into the digital world. I believe film’s due for a comeback with an overlay of digital processing.
Thanks for topping by Paul and encouraging words. For me its already back!
Sergey,
Got your email this week. Sorry I’m just now replying and yes I’m wanting to shoot desperately. The knee rehab is taking longer than I anticipated. Now on to the good stuff…
Wow! You’re right the tones are absolutely amazing! I am blown away with the quality of these photographs. I’m off for now to look over your blog and catch up. We’ll chat later for sure.
These did come out wonderfully.
