Picnik Acquired by Google, is Flickr next?

March 2nd, 2010 No comments

Google just bought Picnik the online photo editing site. This is an interesting move by Google and I am sure that Picnik employees are jumping for joy. Picasa is a stand alone photo editing and cataloging application from Google which I use in for organization of family photos. I wonder if Google will stop supporting Picasa or integrate with Picnik? M6 Update

As a annual tradition I take my kids to Disneyland on their birthdays and take a point and shoot camera. Last year I took my Nikon D300 and had many great pictures. This year I took my Panasonic Lumix LX3 which is now over 1k pics taken. I am still not willing to upgrade to any of the micro 4/3 cameras as that would complicate the reason for compact camera. My thought was small compact and I was planning to shoot in iA (Intelligent Auto Mode). As I keep taking photos with this camera my trust for the auto mode has grown and I started to feel more comfortable with letting the camera decide. I just wanted to have fun with my daughter. ...Read More...
