Camera straps are sold in so many varieties, but to me a strap must work wit a specific camera. My DSLR and my Leica are 2 very different strap requirements. For my heavier Nikon D300 I use the Black Rapid StrapS RS5 strap. I checked quite a few various straps in a store in person and I though this would make a great addition. I liked the way it slings over the shoulder with the camera on the lower side. A very high quality strap and quick to draw when hanging on shoulder. Here is a video on Youtube.com that explains how to wear it. Even though in the vid it shows a big camera with a large lens it works perfect on smaller DSLR cameras. I originally got it when I had the Nikon D60 and it worked great. ...Read More...

The Nikon 35mm f/2D lens is becoming one of my most used lenses with my D300 camera. Not only is it a bargain, but I have taken some of my best photos with it.
The lens is light and small and is packed with features and creates wonder color renditions and amazing bokeh. This lens can be used on film cameras, cropped sensors digital SLR and full frame digital SLR cameras. This lens had some problems back in the early 2000s which have been resolved by Nikon since. When buying used it is best to make sure that it is one of the newer versions. ...Read More...

As a annual tradition I take my kids to Disneyland on their birthdays and take a point and shoot camera. Last year I took my Nikon D300 and had many great pictures. This year I took my Panasonic Lumix LX3 which is now over 1k pics taken. I am still not willing to upgrade to any of the micro 4/3 cameras as that would complicate the reason for compact camera.
My thought was small compact and I was planning to shoot in iA (Intelligent Auto Mode). As I keep taking photos with this camera my trust for the auto mode has grown and I started to feel more comfortable with letting the camera decide. I just wanted to have fun with my daughter. ...Read More...

I have only had 3 point and shoot cameras. I started with a Sony Cybershot then a DSC and a year ago a Canon SD-750. I wanted a camera that can be carried every day and everywhere without weight and attracting attention like DSLR would.
The cameras I considered: ...Read More...
