My DSLR and my Leica are 2 very different strap requirements. For my heavier Nikon D300 I use the Black Rapid StrapS RS5 strap. I checked quite a few various straps in a store in person and I though this would make a great addition. I liked the way it slings over the shoulder with the camera on the lower side. A very high quality strap and quick to draw when hanging on shoulder. Here is a video on Youtube.com that explains how to wear it. Even though in the vid it shows a big camera with a large lens it works perfect on smaller DSLR cameras. I originally got it when I had the Nikon D60 and it worked great. ...Read More...

As a annual tradition I take my kids to Disneyland on their birthdays and take a point and shoot camera. Last year I took my Nikon D300 and had many great pictures. This year I took my Panasonic Lumix LX3 which is now over 1k pics taken. I am still not willing to upgrade to any of the micro 4/3 cameras as that would complicate the reason for compact camera. My thought was small compact and I was planning to shoot in iA (Intelligent Auto Mode). As I keep taking photos with this camera my trust for the auto mode has grown and I started to feel more comfortable with letting the camera decide.
