A few photos with Fuji Velvia 50
It is my first time shooting with Fuji Velvia slide film. I have read many articles about how nice the scans from slide film look and decided to try it out my self.

I have given some thought about the entire film vs. digital cameras the came to a single conclusion. I am not going into the entire argument on how one is better then other or on one brand vs other.

Just got the new to me Nikon FM2N and put a 35mm f/2D (my review) lens and snapped a few pics with Tri-X 400. Ran upstairs developed it, went out for a bike ride and just now scanned them with a grin.

I took my Leica M6 and a few rolls of film to Malibu here in California. I wanted to shoot some ISO 100 film particularly the Kodak Ektar 100. This stretch of beach is popular with younger generation and photographers. Plenty of rocks and during the magic hour this beach is a wow!

I sold most of my Nikon gear recently to fund a digital Leica. In the meantime I processed a few more rolls of B&W film. Ilford Delta 100 and a roll of TMax 400.

Camera straps are sold in so many varieties, but to me a strap must work wit a specific camera. My DSLR and my Leica are 2 very different strap requirements. For my heavier Nikon D300 I use the Black Rapid StrapS RS5 strap. I checked quite a few various straps in a store in person and I though this would make a great addition. I liked the way it slings over the shoulder with the camera on the lower side. A very high quality strap and quick to draw when hanging on shoulder. Here is a video on Youtube.com that explains how to wear it. Even though in the vid it shows a big camera with a large lens it works perfect on smaller DSLR cameras. I originally got it when I had the Nikon D60 and it worked great. ...Read More...
While in a photo store I decided to try a film unfamiliar to me Rollie Pan 25. Not much information is published regarding this made in Germany film in a strange container. I loaded my M6 and took it out and shot the entire roll in a day. I also just got the Voigtlander Ultron 28mm f/2 lens and needed to find out how it shoots. I burned through the roll quite fast within 24 hours in order to understand for my self for both reasons the film and the lens.

I have had a chance to experiment with various 35mm film and my Leica M6 for the past few months. I have been developing black and white film self and the color C41 film at Walgreens. Home developing is quite simple and using Diafine with easy to follow instructions from figitalrevolution.com fantastic post! Having shot Tri-X 400 and T-Max 400 at various speeds and remaining quite satisfied with results. I have just shot a roll of Rollei Pan 25 which is categorized as a very sharp film and just as I finished shooting this roll a great article popped up by Max Marinucci located here on Steve Huffs blog site. His Flickr stream contains many wonderful images using film and digital Leica captured photos. He has also been answering question that I have. Photo below is Tri-X shot @ ISO 1250 and developed in Diafine.

Shot another roll of Tri-X 400 with Leica M6 TTL at 1250 EI and developed with Diafine. I am really liking the B&W photography. All of the day shots were captured with a 3 stop filter. See my Flickr stream for more… Tried scanning as 16 bit images, 24 bit color images and next time I will try – scan as positive then invert and desaturate. Developing film at home is quite simple, but figuring how to scan takes some variation, patience and practice.

A few rolls of film spent, processed and scanned with my Leica M6 TTL. It has been a very rewarding experience. I shot a 36 exp Trix-X 400 at box speed by mistake and developed it in Diafine. I used a rented Zeiss 50mm 1.5 lens. Images came out developed well with just some minor water marks on negatives, but the tones are amazing.
I wanted to burn through the roll to make sure the camera is functioning as it should, shutter speeds are up to par and just to shake it out. So I took pics in the house, low light, outside after the rain stopped. Plus, patience was wearing thin on getting into the development solution with Diafine. ...Read More...
